About Yoo Seung Jun

Reports have it that Yoo Seung Jun met fellow members of the Dragon Club when Dream Team participants Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Jong Kook and Hong Kyung In visited LA recently. The 3 were in town to shoot an episode of Dream Team a segment of the KBS Sunday show "Power TV." Yoo Seung Jun himself used to be an avid participant of Dream Team. The private meeting took place on April 28 when Yoo Seung Jun himself came out to meet them. They were later said to have dinner together the next day at an LA restaurant. Yoo Seung Jun was banned from Korea in January of last year after dodging military service. At the time he announced that he had gained US citizenship which exempted from service but also his career. All Korean men are required to serve in the Korean military for 26 months. The subject has been an area of hot discussion for a lot of other gasoos. Psy and Hong Kyung Min are two gasoos who temporarily had to halt their careers due to military service. Others in similar position to Yoo Seung Jun are JTL's Tony and Shinhwa's Andy who pledged to do military service in order to continue their singing careers. Yoo Seung Jun who had made LA his permanent residence since 1989 when his family first moved from Korea has been living quietly since his ban. According to his 3 Dragon Club friends Yoo Seung Jun showed eagerness of going back to Korea and reviving his career but also expressed regret for not being able to. KBS reporter Chwee Jae Jin attempted to interview him by visiting his church he attended but was denied. Dream Team returned to Korea on May 8.



About KangTa, HyeSung, Lee JiHoon

Members of the 79 Club and close friends Kang Ta, Lee Ji Hoon and Shin Hye Sung officially started work on their project album. The 3 close friends who are targeting a late June or July release have been spending time at Shin Hye Sung's new studio planning the album. After Shinhwa's contract with SM ended Shin Hye Sung moved into a new studio in Seoul. Kang Ta and Lee Ji Hoon had been visiting almost daily since to work on the album.

Shinhwa members spoke out for the first time since they broke ties with SM Entertainment at their "Creation of Shinhwa" fanmeeting on May 10. Lead singer Shin Hye Sung was especially vocal and urged fans not to believe any breakup rumors. Shinhwa members who said they haven't decided on a new company yet once again promised to their fans at the fanmeeting that they would stay together. At the fanmeeting Shinhwa performed their hit songs and met fans through a board game.



About Yoongun (Brown Eyes)

Former Brown Eyes member Yoongun signed a solo contract with Shil Entertainment on May 5. According to his new contract Yoongun is scheduled to release his 1st album in November. "I want to come out with new music that is not disappointing for former Brown Eyes fans," said Yoongun about his first solo album. Yoongun the mastermind behind the 2 Brown Eyes albums left his former boss Gab Entertainment in mid-April.

This year's addition of the Dream Concert will be held on May 17 at Seoul's Olympic Stadium. The concert will not only feature Korea's top gasoos but also a conscious effort to help out civillains of war torn Iraq. Proceeds from this year's concert will go to a fund for the childen of Iraqi refugees. The all live concert which has been organized every year since 1995 by the Korea Entertainment Producers' Association will be televised live by SBS. The 9th Annual Dream Concert will last 3 hours after a 6:30 PM start (Korea Time). The Dream Concert which has been newly renamed the F* Concert is often considered the biggest Kpop event of the year and is expected to be attended by 70,000 spectators. This year's lineup will feature 17 of the country's top gasoos including Boa, Sung Shi Kyung, Shinhwa, Lee Soo Young, Click-B, GOD, Park Ji Yoon, Park Hwa Yo Bi, Kim Gun Mo, Kim Bum Soo, Drunken Tiger, So Chan Hwee, Cool, Cha Tae Hyun, Lim Chang Jung, Jewelry and NRG. 4 new gasoos Lyn, Butterfly Effect, Kim Hyung Joong and Seven are also scheduled to perform. The F in F* Concert stands for "Freedom," "Fever" and "Future." The 2003 F* Concert will be hosted this year by Kang Ta and Finkl's Lee Hyori. Tickets for the concert which are free will be distributed in Korea until May 10 at FnC Cologne stores.



About Koyote

Latest word from the Koyote camp has the popular coed group targeting a late May release for their highly anticipated 5th album. The rapper for the 5th album will be Jung Myung Hoon a former rapper for OPPA and PLT. He will be filling the void left by original rapper Kim Goo who was expelled from Koyote in February 2002. The rapper for the 4th album was Kim Young Hwan. The recording for the new album was finished on May 4. Koyote members Shinji and Kim Jong Min have been busy since May 7 shooting the music video for the title track and the album jacket in the Korean Island of Jae Ju.



About BoA

The release of Boa's 3rd album has been postponed from late May to early June. Boa who has been working on her new album ever since returning to Korea in late April recently recorded 3 performances including her new Japanese single "Shine We Are" for 2 Japanese shows in Seoul. "Shine We Are" is the title track of her 9th Japanese Single Album to be released on May 14.



Abuot Shoo

Former SES member Shoo will be wrapping up her current TV activities in order to concentrate on her upcoming solo album. She will start taking singing and dance lessons starting later this month. Shoo who is planning to release her album in July had already been talking composing lessons since late last year. Shoo shot her last appearance on the SBS TV Drama "Twenty Years" on May 7 and will host KBS Music Bank with Shinhwa's Junjin for the last time on May 15.



About Fly to the Sky

Fly to the Sky member Fany was recently diagnosed with a knot in his vocal chords after complaining of a sore throat since around the beginning of May. Doctors advised that he should rest and be careful in speaking from then on. Fany who immediately entered a 10 day treatment period will temporarily take a break from his SBS radio show the "Ten Ten Club" which he has been hosting since last October. He will be replaced by fellow SMer Shoo during his time off.



About Park Ji Yoon

Park Ji Yoon has decided not to re-sign with JYP Entertainment. The female gasoo said that she made up her mind to pursue another company after talking with Park Jin Young the producer for her last 3 albums. They both agreed that parting would be the best way to go after Park Ji Yoon expressed her desire in trying other types of music. Her JYP contract which Park Ji Yoon signed in 2000 expired last month. Park Jin Young was the one who nurtured the female star's sexy image starting with her 4th album's "Sung In Shik." Park Ji Yoon who has already gotten several contract offers from other companies said money won't be important in her choosing her new record label but how well that company can expand her acting career.
